Doris completed

Hello you beautiful people, sorry for the long silence, but I can finally announce that Doris has been completed!
Well, I don't want to jinx it, but we finished the sound edit yesterday, which was the finishing part of post production.
It's all in the hands of the editor now, who will put the graded film and the sound edit together. I hope to be able to give news about a screening soon. I have also applied to the (LGBT) Flare film festival at the BFI (which takes place at the end of March), and I'm waiting to hear whether it got through.
More news as and when I get them.

There's no business, like show business

The pre-production of "Doris" is well under way and I am running around like a headless chicken to get all things done. I know I'm not the only one, set designer, make up artist, costume designer, they are all doing the same song and dance to get everything ready. Showbiz is fun, tiring, but fun, really fun. I even managed to sleep last night, which at this stage is like winning the lottery (I've had some -- many -- sleepless nights in the past few weeks), a good night's sleep should give me the energy boost I need to get through the next few days.

On a different note, we are also pleased to announce that the song "Spend a Little Time" by the very talented Alexander Price, will feature in "Doris." Yoohoo!

Good Riddance is now Doris

We are in the last stages of the pre-production. Shoot dates are 2 and 3 August and the title of our short film has now changed from "Good Riddance" to, simply, "Doris."

I am very excited and can't wait to shoot it.

We also did a little photo shoot for something that I will keep mysterious for now. But here's a little pic to whet your appetite.

"It So Happens" nearly finished

As it's been indeed quite some time since the last update on It So Happens, I'm happy to say post-production is very nearly finished. The final grade should be in before the end of next week, the sound is also very nearly finished and we left the music for last so we could see what would work best once the sound design was done. Hopefully, I will soon have a trailer to show too. Watch this space.

"Fallen" got through to round 2 of Film of the Month on Shooting People. If you are a registered Shooter, cast your vote and support "Fallen." Shooting People will also add  us to their blog for Film of the Month. I will link it as soon as it's up. Meantime I leave you with the poster artwork by the multitalented Aron Lawton-Wright.

Fallen on IMDB

Despite my unsuccessful application to the Sundance film festival, "Fallen" earned its spot on IMDB. You can view it here.

VFX on It So Happens

It So Happens is in post-production, we have found an amazing VFX artist to composite the bedroom on fire scene... yes, you read right. And that's something that could only be done in post. Have a look at Nick Tregenza's website and marvel at the magic that he can create.

Spring in Uncharted's heel

As I'm putting the final touches to Uncharted Films' website, now that I am finally getting a grip on my film projects, I feel like I am coming out of hibernation. Spring must be at the door indeed, or in my heel. I feel ready to get back to work, but having had to put things on hold for so many months, I now have so much to get back to and catch up on.

It So Happens' post-production is back on track, I hope to be able to post some previews here soon. It's now time to get back to Good Riddance's location scouting. I am also still looking for a production designer, so if anyone is interested, please contact me.

(Fallen) Audio Commentary

Hello all,
Long time no blog. Sorry for the silence, life outside the movies completely sidetracked me. However, this afternoon I will be seeing Fallen's lovely producer Ged Cleugh for a session of audio commentary of the short film, so we can finally get some DVDs done. Yoohoo! I will write some more later. Meantime, I have also updated Uncharted Films' website and it looks rather nice, if I do say so myself. Have a look www.unchartedfilms.com

Ciao for now! x

Good Riddance's good beginning

The fundraiser is about to close and Good Riddance has just received another very generous $1000 donation. We thank and welcome Michael Salmon on board as an Executive Producer. He joins Phillip Reeves and Barbara Scott in the Executive Production team. The money raised is enough to shoot the film and allow us to pick and choose a few things for the production, like costumes and locations. The post production has been endorsed by a professional producer, which means that the money raised can be used mostly for the production and to cover some post-production costs, not the full works. I will update you all soon with news, as I am now starting to look for crew members. If you know anyone interested in helping on set as a production assistant please, drop us a message. Thank you all!
